MEET OUR CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Rachel Soares is an Alumnus of NIFT Hyderabad and Academia Costume e Moda, Rome, Italy. She graduated from NIFT with a bachelor’s degree in fashion during which she realised her passion for couture. The idea of creating one- of-a-kind, custom-made pieces was exciting and intriguing. The line between fashion and art started to fade. She continued with a master's in Alta Moda (Couture) in Rome, Italy at Academia Costume e Moda. This course deepened her understanding of couture and shaped her ideas of creating wearable art. While in Europe, she worked closely with luxury fabrics and couture embroideries before returning to Mumbai. She decided to start her luxury label that exemplified her vision of Indian wear coupled with interesting western cuts. Her design aesthetics are heavily inspired by her time, in Paris having worked on design briefs from clients like Dior, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton.
‘Easy, breezy, Lightweight..’
Atelier Soares is an Indo-fusion luxury fashion brand that brings forward the idea of lightweight Indian wear pieces. With the view to merging the aesthetics of the East with the West. We specialise in experimental and elegant tailored cuts and embroideries. There is a high level of fabric manipulations and explorations relatively new to Indian wear.

Every piece handcrafted in our Atelier is made to absolute perfection with an in-depth study of fit, surface embellishment, and tailoring.
We believe in doing our part towards creating a sustainable future in the textile industry as a new age brand. Our production line is based on a ‘made to order’ basis which means we only work on pieces as soon as an order is placed. This cuts out the excess textile and labour wastage which normally occurs in the textile space.
In addition to this, we also have our own luxury pret line which extensively uses organic and sustainable fabrics to create beautiful and unique pieces. Our print collection is sourced from artisans all over India who special in hand block printing and screen printing. These prints are specially curated in line with the aesthetics of the Atelier to bring you the best.
